We are building a future where knowledge is digitised, enhanced, and made accessible through AI – helping investment professionals and decision-makers run the most efficient and informed diligence projects on the world’s leading B2B tech assets. At the core of everything we do is data – customer-centric insights that are faster, higher-quality, and drawn from the source of truth: the customer.
Since 2018, we’ve been reinventing the expert network industry with a tech-driven approach. More agile and innovative than legacy networks, we stand out with our AI-powered platform, custom-sourced experts, and first-to-market tools like Canopy video Q&A and Arbolus Insights B2B customer data. Our focus on customers of B2B tech assets gives us a unique edge, with a dataset of over 300k customer insights powering our solutions.
Headquartered in London, Arbolus is a venture-backed scale-up with over 170 employees across global offices in Barcelona, New York, and Gurgaon. Recently, we secured a $20 million Series B funding round to fuel our U.S. expansion and advance our mission: to make human knowledge digital, enhanced by AI, and widely accessible.
About the role
The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be pivotal to driving growth in our Private Equity client segment – one of the fastest-growing parts of our U.S. business. This role is designed for a driven sales professional who thrives on managing the full sales lifecycle: from sourcing new opportunities and running product demos, to guiding trials and closing deals.
You will play a front-line role in introducing our AI, data, and product solutions to leading funds, showing how Arbolus transforms how diligence is done. This role requires curiosity, commercial acumen, and the ability to position our innovative products as must-have solutions for private equity professionals. You’ll also work closely with product and delivery teams to ensure client needs are met and to help shape the future of our offering.
Key responsibilities you will be in charge of
- Full Sales Ownership: Manage the end-to-end sales process — prospecting, qualifying, running demos, initiating trials, and closing new clients.
- Client Engagement: Partner with account management and delivery teams to drive engagement during trials and ensure successful outcomes.
- Pipeline & Forecasting: Build and maintain a healthy pipeline, accurately forecast opportunities, and consistently exceed targets.
- Market & Product Insights: Share feedback from clients and prospects with internal teams to influence product development and market positioning.
- ICP Refinement: Collaborate with marketing and product to refine our Ideal Customer Profile in the private equity segment and sharpen outreach strategies.
- Deep Market Understanding: Develop expertise in the private equity and B2B tech landscape, positioning Arbolus as the go-to partner for customer-centric insights.
- CRM Management: Keep HubSpot records accurate and up to date, ensuring clear visibility into the pipeline and progress.
Requirements to succeed in this role
- Experience in SaaS / Data / Research Sales: 3+ years in SaaS, subscription data, or primary research sales, ideally with private equity or investment professional clients.
- Proven Track Record: Strong history of meeting or exceeding sales quotas.
- Product Curiosity: Genuine enthusiasm for selling innovative products and shaping emerging solutions.
- Insight & Problem Solving: Ability to uncover client pain points and design solutions that add clear value.
- Communication & Organization: Excellent communicator with strong organizational skills to manage complex sales processes.
- Collaborative Spirit: Team player with a proactive, energetic approach who contributes positively to a high-performance culture.
